Cyber Stalker
I met this girl through a guy friend the other day. She sounded like cool people from the brief conversations we had together. I didn't think nothing of it. Danced a couple times. Nothing serious. I'm not trying to hit on her because its my boy's "dibs" and shoot, I even helped him with an isolation by driving our other friends home who rode with him! We made up an excuse that we wanted to go eat. Anyway, I got a text message the other day from my guy friend.
Him: Yo, check out _____ profile!
Me: Huh? Why?
Him: I think she is stalking you, she totally changed her profile info.
Me: What? Are your serious? How so?
So it continues for a bit but basically she copied my profile verbatim.
You'd swear she was the female version of me. He said her interests changed, even to some of one of my obscure ones I mentioned to her when we chilled. She all of a sudden had a relationship status of single.
OMG. I didn't add her as a friend because I'm not like that. I don't go adding everyone I meet to my facebook. If they add me, than I guess I'll add them because I'm not a snob, but I don't go letting everyone into my world.
I think its because we were tagged in the same photo that everything changed, like she was anticipating me to see her profile afterwards. I won't lie, I click on other people's profiles once in a while.
but I don't go changing my profile to attract a girl or anything. lol. Its just kind of weird. I've had real life stalkers before and to have one on facebook is kinda of creepy. Hahaha.

Where In The World Is Aaron?
Ok, So I have been quite busy. Almost a whole month since my last update.
So what have I been upto you ask? Hmmmm. Let's start with the last real entry date...
Montreal
On halloween, my friends and I rolled to Montreal. First time going there. Its not that bad of a drive when you have good entertainment. aka. me.
What happened in Montreal, stays in Montreal. lol. Seeing other nationalities speaking French is crazy. Its like I entered a new dimension. And yes, its true, they are snobby to Americans, so say you are from Toronto, like I did, at least they respect that you are "Canadian". The girls are hot but they won't talk to you the minute you speak English. The only game I was getting was from Asian French Canadians. Go figure.
But yeah, good times nonetheless, got to come back there again. Maybe for snowboarding season? Maybe...
Mom's Birthday
One of the reasons I've been low profile lately. If you follow my twitter, my mom had a cardiac catherization the day before her birthday. My dad's autopsy said my dad pasted away due to cardiac arrest / stroke so we asked my mom to get checked since they ate the same things, you know. So basically, my mom does indeed have a blockage in her artery as well. Its not as bad as my dad's and doesn't require surgery at this time. So my mom was put on blood thinners to hopefully stop he advancement of it.
So I have been trying to change my mom's eating habits and it hasn't been easy. My mom keeps sneaking in bad foods when I'm not looking. It can be frustrating. I know we are at a delicate point in out lives with my dad departing and with all the birthdays (my brother's, mine and my mom's) and all the holidays that approach. I'm drawn pretty thin right now and feel like I'm drowning. This is not a situation I was prepared for nor how to correctly deal with it. ugh...
Anyway...
What else been happening....
Nov 6 - Friend's Typhoon Relief Concert then went to Beer Garden then Bahama mama's. Funny because I was supposed to hang out with another group of friends at Beer Garden, but they bailed and I end up bumping into them at Bahama Mama's. lol. Small world.
Nov 7 - My friend's birthday dinner, then had another friend's late halloween party. I know, it was a week after Halloween but I'm not going to complain about girls wanting to dress up for one more night.
Nov 14 - Pacquiao vs Cotto Fight. Pacman rocked the crap out of him. lol. Good fight. Left my hat at my friend's house which I still haven't picked up yet.
Nov 17 - Meteor Shower. My friend and I trying to take pictures of the meteor shower to no avail.
Nov 20 - My friend's birthday in Queens. I dislike the whole split check thing. One person in the group was going all out on drinks, apps, and dinner and I have to toss in $40 for my $15 meal.
But whatever. It was my friend's birthday.
Nov 21 - Naic Cavite Dinner Dance
I'm sure I'm missing a lot more, this is what I put on my calendar and doesn't include my spontaneous trips like my visit to Belmar or my biking excursion day trips.
Thanksgiving morning I'm running in a 10k and 5k for Multiple Sclerosis and Black Friday I will be snowboarding. Get at me if you are interested.

Small World
Its a small world after all. In the pool, I bumped into one of my old dodgeball friends. Not only that but it seems he is also a budding triathlete like myself! Talk about a coincidence. He has way more experience than me (he ran track and was on the swim team) so I felt like I was racing phelps in the pool.
Just goes to show you how much more I need to train. Dam you endurance sports, why do you take so long to master!
Mystery Solved
So I went to Kean to solve the mystery of why my classes were a mess. Apparently its because of my student status. I was registering as an undergraduate to take my prerequisites. Wrong! I was supposed to register as a graduate non-matriculated student. Doh! So I got that fixed and I can know register problem free now, right? Wrong! This is Kean after all.
Graduate non-matriculated student register almost dead last so I will be struggling to get overloads for ALL my classes. You seriously got to be kidding me. Just what I need. Oh what fun!
Four Years in the Making
Its no secret that I dislike Kean University. I mean they gave me so much grief just for a sub-par education. I made some good friends there so its not a complete lose. But after four years from graduating that place, I finally picked up my diploma! lol. Yeah, I know. I'm so bad/lazy.
Onward To Videos!
Crazy costume idea! I need to work on my costume. I need to make it more portable. lol. What to do, what to do! It might ruin the premise!
One of those feel good videos.
You could not pay me enough to do that. lol. But mad respect for that guy though.
Edit: On a side note, I may start using facebook more. I have been asked to put my wacky video finds there to make it easy to view (aka I don't want to read your blog no more.) Gee thanks.

Target
Had to change my basketball day to Wednesday night because last Thursday night was my birthday.
I guess the it doesn't matter who the competition is, they will always hit me like I got a target on my head, I swear. I drive the lane, cutting up people on the break, and I am always met with someone trying to take my head off. They claim they are clean blocks, but my definition must differ from theirs. My definition entails no contact with the shooter but apparently theirs means as long as I get a piece of the ball along with your head, its a clean block.
Not to mention the constant wrist slaps and a bear hug I received and he complained I self passed. WTF? I can understand if someone else makes that call because they didn't see the obvious contact made on me, but the guy who hugged me calling it on me? Really? What a punk.
To top off the night, I also got a pretty bad eye gouge. The second it hit me, I couldn't see squat. My eyes were aiming at different things and couldn't focus. I got dizzy when I ran down the court for the remainder of the game. I didn't get my vision back until Saturday in my right gouged eye. Thanks prick for massaging my brain via my eye socket. Lucky I didn't return the favor.
Happy Birthday to Me!
Thursday was my birthday. Was a very loving birthday I must say. After basketball, a couple friends kidnapped me for coffee/dunkicino at Dunkin Donuts to celebrate the midnight of my birthday, just hanging out and catching up. Felt like I wanted to puke but it was probably because of the eye poke, not the Dunkicino.
In the morning of my birthday, I had to bring my mom to the doctor. After what happened with my dad, my mom is getting every test insurance allows and more to make sure my mom is in top health. My mom and dad eat the same foods so I have to regulate my mom's food now, more so than I do for her diabetes.
We ate out for lunch, just me and my mom, after her appointment. We ran into an old family friend (my cousin's cousin) while there. He is among my heroes because he went back to the Philippines to find a cute wife. lol. Seriously, he did good. hahaha. After lunch, I hit the gym (yeah, I don't take a break, even on my birthday. lol.) I needed to workout because I was eating a ton load that day.
Then round two ate at my Dad's favorite buffet, China Buffet. Its his favorite buffet because they serve a good amount of seafood, and a good variety of food. It was also the Buffet's Anniversary so it was 50% off that day! Dinner for $5, can't beat that.
I just pigged out on seafood for my dad. Felt weird to eat there without my dad though and seeing him down a plate of crab legs...
After dinner, just chilled with the family watching a movie until bedtime and then got picked up to just hang out in New Brunswick for a couple. Low key, nothing wild and crazy. Its just really not my style to celebrate my birthday in a glamorous way. The only times I really celebrate it is when people do it for me. lol. Like if they throw a party for me. Otherwise, a dinner and just chilling with old friends is good enough for me. I'm simple. Just buy me an ice cream cake and you just made my day. lol.
40 Days
Has it really been that long? My dad's 40th day since he passed away. I'm not sure if its a Filipino thing or what, but its commemorated with a mass and get together. It was a hectic day, I had personal appointment at 10am then from there on, I was cooking for the night's memorial. I did mostly desserts of course.
Cookies, Brownies, Goodie Bars, and Fried Chicken. Not just any fried chicken, but my attempt at Bon Chon Chicken. lol.
I had to cut back the spicy because my family is not a spicy kind of family, but otherwise it was pretty tasty nonetheless. So good, that it was killed within the first 10 minutes the food was served! The second tray was killed just as fast!
I wonder how much better it would have turned out if I took my time and put the full spices in. MMmmm. My brother messed up a batch too. I told him to dip the fried chicken in the sauce quickly and let it dry. So what does he do while I buy the drinks? He SOAKS them in the sauce. Not only that, but doesn't even soak them evenly so he looked blotchy! One simple task. He messes it up because he is too lazy to listen and follow my directions.
I really didn't understand it when my friends told me time will fly but man, they were right. Life has to move on but its harder than it sounds. I never seen my mom like this, and breaks my heart each and every time. Maybe I'll elaborate some other day....

Long Distance
I was having lunch with an old college friend yesterday, catching up with all that is new with each other (well at least what can fit in a lunch hour. lol) which was cool since I haven't had lunch with her in a while and not as often as when I used to work close to her. We ate at my number two sandwich shop which I haven't eaten at since the massive lay off.
With all the news of engagements, it does depress a guy (she is engaged too, lol ). And makes me wonder when I get be to the bride groom.
Sure, I may talk about girls on this blog but normally it never pans out. Usually due to my picky-ness. I mean this runner girl has potential but I would have to overcome the racial barrier (she is Caucasian). Not that it matters to me, but would I be able to win over her friends and family and be accepted? Maybe make some Jon and Kate Plus 8 style babies? hahaha. Who knows...
She also lives in Princeton. Yeah, where the ballers live in NJ. I'm just a working class boy (who is not exactly working right now) and she is... well... from Princeton. Its a bit of a drive too (I used to date a couple girls from this area and its a long boring wilderness drive. aka I would fall asleep at the wheel stuff.
Then I got another proposal on the table. Last night, my friend called me up to wish me happy birthday ( she was two days early but yeah, she thought 13 because she confused my favorite number with my birthday, I'm happy if people even remember it within a 5 day radius. lol. ) But yeah, anyway, she told me something that is earth shattering....
"I'll be coming back to the East Coast!"
Wow. Just wow. Talk about a bomb shell. I used to have a major crush on this girl. She is one of the girls I use as a measuring bar of the things I want in a girl. She moved out to California for college and stayed there after graduation. Now she is telling me she is moving to Boston for her job....
I did a quick google of how far Boston is to my house and its a whooping 4 hour drive. 4 Hours? Now the question becomes, how far would I go for a girl? When I was younger and when gas was cheap, I was known to drive quite far (about an hour and half tops). This was mainly because my brother's reign of terror reached quite far and those were the limits of his territory. lol. Plus if things didn't work out, I'd almost never see them again daily. hahaha.
Don't get me wrong, she is quite the catch, everything a guy wants in a girl, but she is just job oriented (I know, I always fall for the ones I can't have) but I don't want to read too much into this. She didn't call to tell me this Boston thing, she called to wish me Happy Birthday. Not email, not facebook message, not text, but called. Hmmm. Yeah, I read too much into things. lol.
How much am I willing to do for her? Am I willing to drive 4 hours to see her? Does a long distance relationship work? With me heading to school next semester, would I be able to juggle everything? Science isn't exactly as cake to me as math is. I know I'll be studying like a madman to keep up. Ugh. I just don't know. What if I meet my dream girl in UMDNJ? See my problem? Or maybe I should run around with horse blinds on until I get done with school (again). I'll be 30 when I enter Med school. 33 when I get out. Oh man. That is scary to think about all those numbers. Its no wonder why everyone is telling to do Nursing, because its quicker.
Ok, my head hurts and I thought blogging would help me release all these thoughts. lol.

Infomercials
I got to get me a pair for all the ladies checking out my assets. lol.
I wonder if they make a human version?
I love how she keeps a big smile on her face the entire time. hahaha!
And this one is just disturbing. lmao!

Weekend Summary
Friday
Wanted to watch Zombieland, again, but instead went to Biergarden in Jersey City instead.
It was my first time there and it is a pretty chill spot. I think we picked a good night because I didn't bump into any filipino people. Thank God!
Reminds me of a couple of spots in New Brunswick. Its just a chill spot, no music, just a big projector TV and beer. I'm not a big beer person so its kind of lost on me, but at least I finally know what all the hype is about this place.
The only thing funny that occured all night was my friend's attempt at game to this Asian girl who was with a Caucasian group. For the uneducated, it means she is not interested in Asian guys. lol. At least not your typical Asian guy.
She was walking past our table when my friend pulled her aside and asked her what her name was. Yeah, I know, quite the pick up line. Almost as good as the "do I know you from somewhere?" one. hahaha. At least he tried.
Ended the night grabbing Chicken and Rice in NYC since we were near the tunnel. lol. Good times.
Saturday
Woke up early yet again to head over the a Bike Flea Market in Pennsylvania. Its the biggest event of its kind in the Northeast. Vendors from all over come to grab a bargain. I was hoping to score a either a new road bike or a cyclocross bike (mountain racing bike almost like a hybrid). And I didn't find either. I did score a sweet deal on a new wheel set. So it wasn't a complete bust. My brother picked up a new bike though.
Afterward, we went to church as they were having a memorial/offering mass for my dad at 5pm. First time my family set foot into the church since my dad's passing. Its kind of sad because it reminded us of the last time we were here. Its a tough pill to swallow. Its almost hard to believe its almost 40 days (Oct 16, yeah right after my birthday). We have been opting to go to mass at other churches in the meantime. It is tough on my mom to be repeatedly asked the same question, though I guess its better to talk it out.
Then headed to Edgewater's Archetypus Cafe for birthday dinner. Played with our DSLR and making light paintings while waiting for our food. I haven't been to this cafe in the longest time. I'm talking almost 9 years (early college). Still hasn't changed. Filled with yuppies. lol.
Ended the night taking shots of the skyline.
Sunday
Race day. Raced a 4 miler in Liberty Corner, NJ. My GPS couldn't find this city for some reason. Thank God I read over the directions beforehand of I would not have found this park. Was a good race. Placed first in my age group. lol.
Was a fun race. Makes me realize once again how I need to train on hills more often.
Man I hate hills.
At the award ceremony, I think a cougar was hitting on me.
She came up to me and started talking to me and didn't leave me alone. lol. She was trying to drop her number asking me to memorize it and I told her I have a bad memory. "Maybe we could run sometime." lol. Creepy. But its ok. Another girl jumped in to save me, I was pacing with her during the race and we chatted a bit before I passed her on a downhill. She also happened to win a raffle prize of a wine tasting at a local restaurant and guess who she is bringing?
Now, just got to find a day to do it. Why did this happen on the busiest weekend for me.
Hopefully she remembers me. The only contact info we got is Facebook. I wonder if this pans out. She is cute and athletic.
Got home and took my sister's dog, Jack, to the dog park. My sister has been too busy to bring him and the little guy needs to socialize. We jogged around for about 15 minutes before her tired out. lol. I need to get a big dog who can run track with me.
I still love Jack though, he is one funny dog. Met some nice people there, even saw a pure white siberian husky!
Ended the weekend just hanging out at my parent's house. Trying to teach Jack some new tricks. Its not that easy. Yeah, he was tired at the end of the night. lol.

Double Trouble?
Yesterday, I had the honor of babysitting my little twin cousins. They are now four years old! They are a handful but not that bad (exact for eating time
) . I thought they would be much worse. lol. Right off the bat, I established that I was in charge to them and they responded pretty well and listened to me. They need to be taught some more than being TV plopped though. I tried helping them with the alphabet recognition so they can read better. It seems like no one is really going over this kind of things with them. Its a shame. They do have good recognition skills for animals though.
It was fun to babysit them but I wouldn't want to do it everyday. lol. At least not by myself.
Asian Food Market
Afterward, I went to the new Asian Food Market by my house. Not as large as I was hoping for but they got a good selection of stuff. The fruits and vegetables are pretty cheap there too. They serve meals there too along with a little bakery. They were still putting some things together so hopefully it'll be a lot better when its finally done. But at least I don't have to drive too far to get my Asian Food fix on.
Does My Head Look Like A Basketball?
Thursdays are basketball Thursdays. I play with my friends every week just to have fun. Win or Lose. Its all about having fun with them. But on occasion, we get friends of friends and this is where it gets a bit hairy.
I'm a big guy. I like to drive the lane. This is a recipe for disaster. I normally never call fouls, unless you can hear the slapping sound or see the obvious yanking of my limbs. Our usual cast of characters are pretty honest with it but one of the new guys yesterday got on my nerves. I drove past him I don't know how many times on him but later in the night he started to get a bit cheesy. I understand you want to get the ball from me but seriously, if I wasn't a calm and patience person, I would have beat this kid down. This guy tried to take my head off at LEAST FIVE TIMES with a clothesline.
Like I said, I drive the lane often, so its expected some contact, but the same kind of contact is really just uncalled for. Lucky for him I can take a hit and still score on his ass and embarrass his pitiful defensive skills. I only got him back once by actually plowing him over on a layup when he thought he could block me and laid him out. I would have done it more often but I felt once was good enough because I didn't want to stat anything.
I mean seriously, if you can't play the game, then learn how to. I was setting picks on him and EVERY time he would grab on to my arm on the roll. Every time I was boxing him out for a rebound, he was grabbing my shirt. I thought he might be gay he was holding me so much. This is one reason why I hate playing with Filipinos. They are some of the dirtiest ballers around. I can understand if I am doing the same stuff to you but at most I do is play you tight with some (clean) physical contact (if I foul you, its unintentional, exact when I get lazy and grab you by the waist. lol.)
Oh well, still beat him more times then he beat my team, even with unfair teams.
VideoooOOoooooes!!
I want to make a video like this! lol.
Because I loved the movie "Big"
High Five!

Happy Birth-a-versary!
or Happy Anni-birth-ary! Recently my friend got engaged. She is cool peoples. But I feel really bad the way she got engaged....
Let me rewind to let you fully understand the story. They have been going out with each other since college, so we are talking about a good eight years of on and off dating? (Don't quote me on this because I'm shooting from the hip, my memory for EXACT details can be shaky at my old age. lol. )
My friend is cool to hang out with and talk to. She is a total sweetheart. She is definitely an independent woman type making that money as a Physical Therapist.
The boyfriend is ok. I'm not going to talk trash about the guy, he never treated me disrespectfully but the noise I heard about him from others make me wonder about him. There was even an incident among our friends when he was said to be acting like a "diva." I'm pretty protective of my friends, and I am not afraid of confrontation, and if I was there, you can bet I would be in that mix. Friend, foe, stranger, I don't take any of it. Don't get me wrong, violence is the last resort, usually my tall stature will calm situations down.
Anyway, I must say, he pulled off the biggest fail in the history of dating. Proposing on a girl's birthday. I'm no expert in girls but I know a fail when I see it. I know that girls love anniversaries. For guys, it seems like a good idea to propose on the birthday, your birthday gift is the proposal. Seems like a good thing, right?
Wrong! Why? Because you are just casting a shadow on her birthday. Now its a two for one occasion. Its like people with birthdays near Christmas, always getting shafted in celebrating both individually. Think about it. Sucks don't it?
The point of it all is supposed to be a day of celebration. Now she has to get the guy something on her birthday/anniversary. Instead of having a day where its focused on her, it now becomes about both of them.
Personally I would be a little slicker. There are so many other days that would be perfect. Typically I would pick a day with a good three to four week buffer from other important days (birthday, Christmas, etc). They went to Aruba for vacation earlier, that would have been a good time too, you know? Or maybe pick a cool number day like 09.09.09 or 07.08.09 etc. Something that would make other girls jealous of the way it was done. lol.
That is just me though... but congrats to them nonetheless.

Tiring Weekend (cont)....
Saturday Evening...
After getting home later than planned, I took a shower and left to eat at Iberia for my friend's wife's birthday. Ordered the rodizio (aka endless grilled meat served until you say uncle!)(see facebook mobile picture, lol) I really wasn't full though, they stopped serving us because the rest of the table was full.
I was probably at 7.5-8 in terms of fullness. And yes when I go into beast mode, I will eat more than you can imagine. bwahahaha. Not exactly the carb loading I was supposed to do before a long Bike Tour, but I protein loaded instead. Which might explain why I wasn't sore at all after the Bike Tour. lol.
So after Iberia, we condensed cars and headed into the city to head to a party for the Libras (myself included). I didn't really find out about it until about Wednesday in which I didn't start telling people until Thursday evening.
Late, yes, but I really didn't think the party was going down because my friend who was setting it up wasn't keeping me in the loop too well because the venue wasn't confirmed until Wednesday.
Good thing I didn't tell people earlier because all kinds of crap could have gone wrong if I told my friends one venue and didn't show.
Speaking of which, because it took some time to condense cars and assemble, a couple friends left the spot we were headed too. Doh! We didn't get into the club into 1am. Yeah, just a little late. I told them we were on the way, but I guess I don't have it to keep a girl to wait for me at a club. (well, actually she told me later it was more over her friends, because they didn't like the fact it was so packed.
and the Asian population there.) All good. One friend who I didn't expect to show did show and that was cool. She is a sweetheart. Her looks are intimidating, but she is the coolest person.
Afterward, we hit up Chicken and Rice of course for a early breakfast. Left the spot at 4am to head down to a closed Holland Tunnel (I can't believe I forgot they closing it, I was just in the city earlier in the day and saw the signs warning about that.
) Took like an hour to get through to the Lincoln Tunnel! After dropping my friends off, it was already 5am in the morning!
Sunday
So yeah, its 5am and I am not home yet. I was supposed to leave my parent's house with my brother at 5:30am for the Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tour. I got to my house at 5:35am, good time all things considered. Then I realized I left the keys to my roof bike rack at my parent's house, so my brother had to pick me up! Doh! We didn't leave my house until 6am and the Tour starts at 7:30am!
We got there at just in time. Luckily there were lots of stragglers so we didn't lose the crowd since we didn't pick up queue cards. Did I mention my tires were flat? Luckily it was just lost air because I was able to fill it up and it held air throughout the tour.
The ride was awesome. To roll around in NYC traffic free is a great experience. One of the best rides of my life. Got to ride under all the East River Bridges. Then got to ride in the Lincoln Tunnel and on the George Washington Bridge. Incredible. Just incredible. Also met a cute Asian girl who was a hardcore biker. She was doing all 66 miles on a Single Speed! Which means she had one gear setting for the entire Tour even for the nasty uphills! I tried to kick game but it wasn't happening. lol. You know when you talk to a girl, you can just feel chemistry, yeah, it wasn't there. I think because we were two different type of bikers. She is a hardcore cycling purist (a la Single Speeder) and me being unclassifiable (on a Time Trial / Triathlon Bike but not wearing the spandex like the rest bikers (though I do wear it under my basketball shorts. lol. Its comfy and padded and prevent chafing)). I don't mesh well with girls like that who think they are better because of things like that. I can ride a single speed, its not that tough, but to think one is superior is foolish. Its like saying a bolt action is better than an automatic weapon, having a 5 speed stick is greater than auto transmissions, Pat's is better than Geno's, or Aaron is cooler than you!
But anyway, I digress. Something about a girl who can ride a bike is sexy. lol. I know it sounds weird, but I do like athletic/toned girls. If she can keep up with half I can do, then I'm in love. If she can keep up with me throughout, I'm putting a ring on that finger. hahaha.
So yeah, I finished around 2:30pm or so. I left my brother at the last rest stop because I felt my pace killing him. He tried to keep pace with me and it was killing him. I barely tapped into my reserve. When he was pedaling his hardest, my heart rate wasn't even in my cardio zone! lol. So I was barely trying when he was at his best. hahaha. I think if I left him at the start, I could have done the 100 miler in the same time for him to finish the 66. lol. Then again, he didn't train at all for this so for him to even finish it was pretty good.
Sorta reminds me when I did my first MS Bike Tour when I did a 50 miler on a mountain bike!
As soon as we got into the car around 4pm, I passed out. hahaha. I didn't mean to, but yeah, I was working on 3 hours total sleep the entire weekend not to mention doing a long bike tour in there!
At least if I do a triathlon or running race, I'm done by noon! I also never pulled an all nighter then race before. Not cool. I usually fit a power nap (1-3 hours) and I'm good.
Thank God I made it out alive.
Some pics....

At the start, 5 minutes late, but there were still tons of people at the starting line!

Shot of crowd behind me at starting line.
Shot of South Street Seaport boats from on top of the FDR. (Brooklyn Bridge in background) and those are my aerobars on my bike in case you were wondering....
Brooklyn Bridge taken while on the move. Beautiful day. Unlike the rainy last year.
Wish I took more pictures but my camera died. Apparently I left the camera on in my pocket from 3:51am to 5:02am according to the beautiful pocket pictures I have.
Doh!

Tiring Weekend....
Can I drain myself any more?
Thursday
Basketball Thursday of course. Played a couple hours of ball. Too bad everyone was tired when I got warmed up. lol. I usually bring two bottles of Gatorade and I only finished one.
I think I should warm up some more beforehand so I can be exhausted like everyone else (more than the 30 mile bike ride I do beforehand!
)
Friday
After my usual gym routine, I really wanted to stay in. I really did. I was all set to play Halo: ODST with my friend online. Then he was delayed. So I called up my other friend to burn some time. Next thing you know, I get roped into watching Zombieland because she wanted to check it out too. The previews are hilarious though I am skeptical those are all the funny parts.
But I love Zombie Movies. I don't know why. Something about zombies are cool. Hence why I like playing Nazi Zombie on Call of Duty. lol.
So we get to the theater around 9ish. And it was sold out until midnight! So we decide to hit up a bar in New Brunswick since the theater was close by so we can wait there until showtime. But we ended up staying there all night. It was one of those venting nights (for her at least.) lol. This is one of the reasons I never dated this girl was because 90% of the conversation was about her. I wish I said I can say I am exaggerating.
Not that I mind listening to people talk and help there problems, but it peeved me just a little that she went on and on about little things in her life when I went through a major thing. But whatever. I know a lot of girls who do this, so I shouldn't be all that surprised.
Afterward, we hit up Grease Trucks. Like eating Chicken and Rice in NYC, eating at Grease Trucks is the thing to do in New Brunswick. We sat around talking some more, catching up with what has been going on with our little group of friends, etc, etc. Next thing you know it was 3am. I dropped her off and ended my night at around 4am.
Saturday
Every first Saturday of every month, there is a mass held for all the departed at the cemetery where my father is buried. It starts at 9am. So as you can guess, I woke up around 7am to get ready. Why oh why do I do these things to myself.
I wanted to stay in and sleep early, but noOOooo, I never seem to do that. lol.
So my family gets there early so we can get a seat. we waited fir about thirty minutes when someone finally came in and told us that the priest wasn't able to make it. WTH? Can a priest really do that? Not just be late but cancel a mass all together? Seriously, in all my life, that is the first time I ever experienced this.
We visited my dad after the cancellation. They just finished the engraving for Mausoleum wall last Thursday and was a first time some of my family saw it. (Sunday, the next entry, was the only day I didn't get to visit my father)
Then my brother and I left for the city to pick up our race packets for the MS Bike Tour (Sunday). We picked up our packets then went to get my brother's bike fixed. I would have fixed it for him but his tires were bald and would need new tires so I just told him to do that instead of me fixing it. lol. He also picked up a new seat while he was at it.
We left his bike at the shop while they put all the new things on his bike. As we left the Bike Shop, some hippie looking guy approached us for our parking receipt. We asked if I was a Buddhist monk. I kid you not. And he was serious. lol. Not that I have anything against Buddhism or monks (in fact, I love the message of peace and unity my homeboy , the Dalai Lama spreads, who I saw back in Sept 25, 2005).
My brother picked up his bike $160 later. We got home around 6pm.
I'll continue this later, this entry is looking kind of long. lol.

Movie Time
I found some movie trailers that I thought were interesting....
A Nightmare on Elm Street in HD
Freddy is back!!!! I guess we really are running out of ideas for movies. Why not just rip off more Asian/Foreign films. lol.
Ok, this one isn't a real movie, but I'd watch it if it was for real.
I loved the first one, I wonder how a sequel how many years later will be.
Who wants to watch this one with me?

In Memory of My Dad
After my dad passed away, I was going to call it quits for this season. I haven't really hit the gym since he passed away because when you train for 2 hours a day, all you do is think. Not good.
My final triathlon of the season was actually the day after his funeral ( Sept 13 ). That triathlon was the only triathlon my father watched me in. In a way I wanted to do it, but I couldn't mentally prepare for it. I'll probably do it next year, and I hope I rock the crap out of it for my dad and make him proud.
My dad was a happy go lucky kind of guy like myself, and I know he would be pissed if he knew he was a "burden" / distraction in our life. I know I would be mad at everyone if they didn't go on with their lives without me. So I mustered up the strength to race again in the McGuire 10k Mud Run. I found it suiting since it was at McGuire Air Force Base and my dad being a former marine for me to compete in this race. It was not just any ordinary run, but one filled with obstacles (mud pits, creek crossings, hurdles, tires, etc). The race was tons of fun because it was interesting throughout. Unlike just a boring everyday run.
I'll update this later with pictures or something. Hopefully.

Never Forgotten...
I apologize my poor Xanga for keeping you in the dark the past couple weeks. Today is the third week since my dad passed away.... Its a long story of how it happened, I'll save it for another time when I feel I can share it on Xanga or for in person. But I'll say it was sudden and unexpected.
My friend told me the time will fly. I didn't understand what she meant. She lost a parent too some time back and sure enough, time did fly by, three weeks in fact. The first couple days dragged on, but thank God for having good family and friends to help my family through it.
Its amazing how one can experience a million emotions when going through this. I thought of myself being a rather strong emotionless guy but in the end, I am human. I'm not gong to lie and say its been easy, but what makes things worse is the impending birthdays. My brother's birthday is coming (Oct 6) then mine (Oct 15, Oct 16 is my Dad's 40 Day) and then my Mom's (Nov 5). Not to mention Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Life can change in a blink of an eye. Admire every sight, savor every bite, and hold every loved one tight.
Rest in Peace Dad. I love you!

What Happened?
This is what happens when I don't blog. I completely forget what I did. lol.
The last week was a blur. Things are just insanity. I think I went to the beach last weekend and saw District 9. So much stuff happened and I can barely remember. Summer is flying by and I can't record it all.
Also had a little bizarre confrontation with that water bottle guy's pregnant girlfriend at Walmart. She was actually crying and completely agreed with me that he is a complete a-hole. talk about craziness. Life is weird. Also, met some friends for lunch before I go back to hibernation mode. Speaking of which, I have a major problem with my classes next semester.
So I reapplied to my college to do my prerequisites for med school. I wanted to raise my GPA from there so it looks like I finished Cum Laude (I was 0.04 points away!
) I blame a really poor freshmen and sophomore year when I just goofed around playing basketball, hanging in the cafeteria, or just cutting class.
Not to mention, girls. What a distraction.
So yeah, as a result, I'm going back to my crappy alma mater.
But in typical fashion, they are screwing me around.
I went in person to get same day application and registration. I got all the classes I needed this semester. But this is Kean after all. So I got a letter telling me my classes were dropped because I didn't take the prerequisites for the classes. So why the heck did my advisor let me sign up for those classes?!?!? I have 5 classes to get into UMDNJ and Kean in its usual manner wants me to take two more classes before I take those 5 classes.
Now I have to think about taking it at the County College because they don't have the same prerequisites.
Geez. But life is not that simple, with being a week away from start of class, they are ALL FULL! (even if I fight with Kean, they already dropped me from the class and they are full too!!!) Looks like I got some serious problems. I must be done with all classes by May 2010 for my admission. Things have gone from bad to worse. FML.

Yoooooo Joe!
Wednesday - Watched the matinee showing GI Joe with my friend. She was dying to see Channing Tatum. I have no clue who he was until she googled him for me. lol. I still have no clue who he is or what other work he did.
Fanboys beware, the movie is not true to the original cartoon so try not to overanalyze it. I finally gave up expecting my childhood cartoons/comics to be true to the original and just take it with a grain of salt. A piece of entertainment.
The acting was horrible (or maybe it was the writing). But it was an OK movie if you look beyond all that. If you are looking to burn 2 hours of your life, then watch it. The problem with this type of movies (comic book, cartoon series, etc) is that in order to fully enjoy the movie, you have to know the background of all the characters to understand the movie completely. This can be hard when you are trying to do a movie and squeeze it all into 2 hours. Hence, why dislike it. Don't get me wrong, it is visually pleasing (the ladies and special effects) but the writing, the acting, the directing, kind of blew chunks. Makes me want to get into the biz to she them how its done!
NYC is the Place to Be!
Yesterday I went to NYC for another one of my patented multipurpose trips.
Drove into the city in the AM to accompany my Physical Therapist on a job. He is a traveling PT which is pretty cool because you meet different kinds of people on the way. It was a knee injury for a guy who lived in at the top of a six story walk up!
It's no wonder why we needed to go to him! lol.
We parted ways afterward and I made my way to meet my friend up for lunch in the Finanace District. We ate at this Korean Sandwich place. I haven't seen her in ages because she works as a CPA and she has been swamped since January and will be so until September or so. Yikes! She says she is banking all the OT because she doesn't have time to spend any of the money. lol. I want a job where I can achieve an equal balance because living for my job is nuts unless I turned pro athlete.
Overnight Shipment?
After walking her back to her office, I made my way to pick up my camera. I drop my old camera some time back and was lazy to get it fixed. I finally dropped it off to this repair shop in NYC a couple weeks ago and its finally fixed now, three weeks later. They told me it would be fixed in two days. I call them and they changed there tune to 5-7 business days. Then I call back Tuesday a full 12 business days and told me some BS about getting shipments from Nikon twice a month for parts. And the low and behold, the next day they called me and my camera was ready. I hate it when people make up BS excuses because they forgot. Just be straight up with me, I know it was a simple fix, just needed the gear to be popped back into place (I researched it already but I didn't want to attempt it since I don't have a dust free room to work on it, which is important for camera repair). Camera works again, so I'm happy. I missed my camera. Now I got four operating digital cameras. lol. Back to taking pictures everywhere!
Super Hero Status
I think walking and talking on the cell phone is ok. But I think walking, talking on the cell, and pushing a baby should be outlawed. On my way to the East Village, I was walking with the crowd's pace and enjoying myself taking in the beautiful city. I noticed the crowd walked on a Do Not Walk Signal and I peeked over to my left, just in case, to see a car barreling down the road. Also on my left was a woman with a stroller talking on her cell phone. Out of instinct, I pushed the stroller into her hard nearly knocking her over. Just before she had a chance to yell at me with a WTF, the car drove past us. I just shook my head and walked away. No thank yous muttered, nothing. Just another day being a super hero. Some people are just so careless when they are on the phone. And some people should just keep their legs closed and not have babies who will get ran over by cars.
Food, Food, and More Food!
East Village is home to some of my favorite food spots. (since I have a friend who lives in the area and yeah, all I do in the city is eat. lol.) I hit up The Yogurt Station for green tea ice cream. This area is packed with yogurt places. Red Mango, Pinkberry, and some other one I forgot. lol. So much competition for yogurt! I got a good mix of green tea, coffee, peanut butter and chocolate ice cream. at 35ยข an ounce, you can't go wrong! lol. But with a ice cream monster such as myself, it quickly adds up.
Then went to pick up some more desserts. Went to Veniero's for some Italian pastries and picked up a triple chocolate mousse cake from Blackhound. Yeah, I'm a fat ass. I know.
Lately, I haven't been visiting the city as much I'd like due to people not wanting to come with me, so I have to make the most of it when I do get here. Then met up with my other friend for a quick dinner at this Ramen Place. Mmmmm.
Something about hanging out with this guy makes me want to cockblock him. Maybe its because he always does that to me.
So when we got to the Ramen place, we were greeted in Japanese by the waitress. She was pretty cute. We were seated and she asked what we wanted to order. My friend ordered and then I made a subconscience move. Not intentional, I swear, it just happened.
Me: What do you recommend? What do you like to eat?
Her: I like sushi.
Me: How about we go get some sushi sometime then?
Her: *laughing* Oh you meant here. *laughs* I would get the (I didn't understnad what she said)
Me: Ok. I'll get that then.
After we were done eating, we paid and I left my number on the reciept.
My friend thought that was a pretty slick exchange and he is a pretty big playboy himself. I never dropped my number to a waitress before because when I was a waiter, I remember all the girls would tell me about this guy and that guy would ask for their number. Man. I can't believe I did that.
Parted ways with my friend and made one quick pit stop to Chinatown for some Sio Pao and Jin Deui. It was like I was picking up groceries in NYC. lol. I stocked up for food for next week.
Then went back to NJ to play some basketball (I was going to do NYC yesterday but since I play basketball outside the Holland tunnel, I figured I'd stack this to my already long day than travel north two days in a row.
)
I Be Ballin'
Got there a little earlier than I thought. I left NYC at 6:15pm and got into Jersey by 6:40pm. GPS told me 8 minutes to get the the church gym. lol. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I gave myself 45 minutes to get through the tunnel and it only took 25. (so only 17 minutes of traffic
)
Played ball for 3 hours or so. Was fun. Got sliced AGAIN on my right arm this time.
I didn't even know when it happened because when I bump into and get bumped all the time. Might have been one of times I drove into the hoop. Not sure. I really don't call many fouls unless its a hard one or intentional.
I think I need to pick up some new sneakers because I keep sliding around like an ice skater.
Could be the floor too but I haven't bought basketball sneakers since college.
I think I'm due for a new pair. (I think I am getting into a basketball addiction again. nOoooOo. lol. )
Got gome 11:00pm.
Long day.

I've Been Kidnapped!!!
Sorta...
Last night happened to be the "peak" time for viewing Perseid Meteoroid Shower (in case you don't use google for your search engine). So my friend decided to kidnap me a little past midnight to watch it since the best times to view it is midnight to 5am and I'll be dammed if I wake up that early. lol.
I watch this meteoroid shower yearly. It is pretty cool to be laying on your blanket, staring into space, and watching the streaks in the sky every so often. If it wasn't for the internet, I would probably miss out on cool things like this. But this time around was a little different. I usually head to the beach to watch it, but my friend wanted to try and take pictures of it. I'm still afraid of mixing my DSLR with sand so I suggested watching it in the Watchung Mountains.
It wasn't quite as nice as I thought it would be. There was still a lot of light pollution from nearby streets and neighborhoods (the really rich neighborhoods
) It was somewhat scary too because we were afraid cops were going to stop us because the neighborhood is that swanky and a guy and a girl in a dark park parking lot just doesn't seem right. lol.
I didn't take many good photos. I need to brush up on my night shooting and still learning how to use every feature on my camera. I was hoping to catch one of the meteors streaking, but that is all about the luck of the draw because I can't predict where the next shooting star will be.
It would have helped us greatly if one of us had a tripod. lol.
So most of the shots were held against objects for a ghetto tripod. hahaha.
After about changing parks 3 times, we settled on one I never heard of before (thanks to GPS overhead view.) lol. Thirty minutes into the shoot, we heard male voices from afar and decided to split. It sounded like an angry voice.
It was a bit cloudy last night with a couple days past full moon so it wasn't the best conditions and I saw only like one shooting star. The glow of orange is from street lights.
I guess I should have just gone down to the beach. Lesson learned. Maybe I'll try again tonight.
Who wants to come?

Riddle Me This?
My life is pretty boring especially without cable TV or my Xbox around. So I find things to amuse myself from day to day just to get by.
(I know, my Xbox has only been gone for 4 days and I'm getting squirrely.
)
So after working out with my friend, she invited me over for dinner and a movie. ( Ok, it was more like White Castle and Red Box. hahaha. ) She made me watch I Love You Man.
She said this movie reminded her of me, the way the main character has mostly female friends. To which I can relate as I do have more female friends to guy friends though I don't think I would have that hard of a time filling up my groomsmen, I think I would have a tough time choosing my Best Man.
I don't exactly have a Best Male Friend. When your brother makes enemies out of everyone, people try to befriend be to get close to my brother. Grimy, I know, but it happened on several occasions. So it really didn't help me with my guy relations. Plus most of my interaction around guys have usually sports related. I have my circles, like my white boys, my filipino friends, my artsy folk, my triathlon buddies, etc. but yeah, maybe its me who doesn't try to get a male best friend, because honestly I feel awkward asking a guy to hang out on a Man-Date.
If I was to get married today, I don't think I would know who I would pick as my Best Man. Sad, isn't it?
Injured Since 1981
So yeah, the above section was suppose to be about my lastest injury when I got side tracked. Dammit.
During the movie, my friend was using me as a pillow.
The heck? I wasn't exactly comfortable with this idea since we just got back from the gym (1 hour swimming, 1 hour bike/run) and I'm sure I wasn't the freshest daisy in the garden.
So I was pretty much pressed up against the armrest of the couch which meant I had my right shoulder shrugged for half the movie. I try to get up and I feel the worse pain in my shoulder. Like something was out of place or stuck. I almost cried like a school girl.
It feels funny now, like a ghost pain, where I am afraid to test the full range of my shoulder because the pain was THAT bad. I can feel that pain coming if I tried to test it.
This sucks. I tried jogging this morning and I felt it twinge and I stopped. How the hec do I injure myself watching a movie?!?!!
Only Aaron can....
Donkey Kong Tribute!!!
Some awesome shelves someone built. I'm tempted to make me one now!

And Donkey Kong Legos!
I could probably make this out of Magnetix, but you know why I wouldn't.
